Leading regional property company Bruntwood owns over 100 properties across Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Birmingham, employing over 800 people. This is the story of how they are building a better future, with a little help from Soldo.
- Removal of petty cash
- Fewer claims
- Streamlined admin
“Soldo has enabled us to close our old corporate credit card scheme, remove petty cash from our business and reduce the number of expense claims we process.”

Out with the old
The need for a new process was clear. Lee explains: “We had a traditional company credit card scheme, with lots of different departments all using a small number of cards. We also had approximately 35 different pots of petty cash pots and all the associated admin that comes with them.”
Persisting with such an approach made tracking day-to-day spend difficult. Valuable time was being spent on receipt gathering, reporting, reconciliation, and petty cash management. It was a state of play that Lee and his team wanted to change.
So, after extensive market research, Bruntwood chose to deploy Soldo. The smart spending solution boasted a solid feature set, an ultra-competitive fee structure and plenty of positive feedback. When the initial trial proved conclusive, the business put cards in the hands of more than 90 managers and senior leaders.
A clear advantage
The benefits, as detailed by Lee, are far-reaching: “Soldo has enabled us to close our old corporate credit card scheme, remove petty cash from our business and reduce the number of expense claims we process. This has reduced the administrative burden, replacing separate manual processes with a single system.”
With one source of rich data helping the team to analyse purchasing trends, it’s now possible to proactively manage spending across the business. And the streamlined processes mean scaling the business won’t result in admin headaches.
Soldo is just one small step on the way to their ambitious goal, but we’re glad our innovation is helping Bruntwood to build a better future.
