Frequently asked question
Is Soldo a credit card?
No. With Soldo your users can only spend the funds that you’ve transferred to their wallets. Their balances are updated in real time and we’ll never charge interest on purchases. What you see on the screen is what is in the wallet – in real time, all the time. This applies whether you’re looking at the Soldo web console, or your users are looking at the Soldo smartphone app.
What name and billing address is necessary when paying online?
Sometimes when you make purchases online you need to enter cardholder details. Even for when you are using a card of an expense centre, we suggest you enter your own name and the address of your company. If you can’t remember the address of your company, it is easy to find in the Soldo app.
Can I use Soldo card without the mobile app?
Yes you can, but you’ll not be getting the full advantages of Soldo! Both plastic and virtual cards can be used without the Soldo mobile app. The mobile app’s unique features include:
- The ability to upload your receipts as soon as you complete the purchase
- The possibility to track expenses in real time
We recommend that you download the mobile app in order to get the full Soldo experience along with the real-time notifications on App Store for iOS and Google Play Store for Android.
Can I pay a security deposit with Soldo?
Yes, security deposits for hotels or car rentals can be paid with your Soldo card. The transaction amount will appear as “pending” and once the merchant has approved the transaction, it will be settled and deducted from your Soldo wallet balance. As Soldo is a prepaid card, you will always have to make sure your Soldo wallet is loaded with enough funds to cover the security deposit amount.
